It's been two weeks now since I last wrote about my experience with dasBlog and I have to say I do like it. At first glance after installing it and playing with it for a few days I thought it was going to be difficult to update colors and layout because I wasn't able to find anything that told me do this or that. I did use the dropdown that would allow me to change themes but the changes I wanted to make were going to require more than just changing a theme. So after a little deeper examination I was able to discover the themes directory and from there it was all too simple.

dasBlog utilizes templates for sections so it was very easy to make the changes across the entire site with just updating one file. Also their css files were pretty clear as to what they were used for. They could use a little documentation in there to explain where the styles are being utilized. Also I found that there are quite a few styles that are referenced in the page but that weren't in the colors css file. That's ok because just examining the source I was able to discover these hidden styles and define them in my colors file so that I could achieve the desired results.

All in all would I recommend dasBlog to my friends? That is the quintessential recommendation that anyone or anything can get right? Yes I would. I feel that it is very straightforward and easy to use. Not to mention that it is open source which is always a favorite. Overall it is a good product that does what it is supposed to.
